In 1999, Mr. Talbot became involved with Universal Space
Lines, Inc. and its group of related companies founded by
former astronaut Charles "Pete" Conrad. After
serving several years as an outside consultant and lawyer,
Mr. Talbot became President/CEO of Universal Space Lines
LLC in 2001.
Mr. Talbot practiced law in Southern California as a partner
with several major law firms and spent approximately seven
years as a business executive. During his more than 20 years
of law practice, Mr. Talbot represented a wide variety of
companies, including Fortune 500 companies, involved in
aerospace, banking, manufacturing, mining, hospitality industry,
medical care, foods, electronics, and land development.
His areas of practice have included mergers and acquisitions,
real estate, securities, tax and general business law.
In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Talbot served from
1974 to 1976 as a member of the Board of Directors of Jonathon
Development Corporation, the company that developed the
first HUD sponsored "new town" in the United States.
He also served as an executive of two motion picture companies.
Mr. Talbot has been involved in a variety of public and
community service activities, including serving over twenty
years on the Board of Directors of Joshua Tree National
Park Association, and serving as a lecturer and panelist
for the Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) for the State
Bar of California. Mr. Talbot is a licensed Commercial Pilot
involved in the restoration and flight demonstration of
vintage military aircraft, and is active in various museums
and associations dedicated to aviation.
