Universal Space Lines Inc. was formed in 1996 by a small
team of people with the vision of enabling low-cost access
to space. Led by the vision of former Gemini, Apollo, and
Skylab
astronaut ,
our team has focused on the development of reusable launch
vehicles as the only viable, long-term solution for reducing
the cost of access to space. Our core team derived much
of its reusable launch vehicle experience from the highly
successful Delta Clipper
experimental vehicles, DC-X and DC-XA, built by the
McDonnell Douglas Corporation for the Ballistic Missile
Defense Organization and NASA.
Universal Space Lines, Inc. founded additional companies
to address specific aerospace business segments, including
and
Rocket Development Company LLC. These companies continued
to evolve with the space access industry through the end
of the 1990s, placing a premium on attracting people
with demonstrated flight experience who are interested in
pushing the requisite technologies for enabling low-cost
space access. In 2001, Universal Space Lines LLC (USL) was
formed to focus on our core products and services of Guidance,
Navigation & Control, Avionics Systems, and Operational
Technologies. The capabilities of our team are evident in
the scope of our clients
and projects. As a qualified small business, we provide
responsive, state-of-the-art solutions for the aerospace
community.
